Elite Guides - Terms and Conditions

  • Mountaineering, Climbing and Mountain Biking have an element of risk associated with them, as stated in the BMC participation statement. "The BMC recognizes that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions."

  • Mountain Biking like climbing and mountaineering is a dangerous sport that may result in injury and or death. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

  • We offer a range of activities in dynamic environments and changeable weather. Hiring a guide/Instructor does not guarantee success, but we will do our best to provide you with an experience that meets the conditions on the day, your experience and fitness levels.

  • Course bookings require a deposit of £100 and a completed booking form to confirm.

  • All participants must complete a booking form and agree to our terms and conditions. If a participant is under 18 a form must be completed and signed on their behalf by their parent or legal guardian.

  • Participants agree to follow the direction and decisions of their guides/instructors. If you do not you absolve yourself of our responsibility.

  • All participants must be 18 or over. Under 18's must be accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian.

  • Participants should be appropriately kitted out for the activity they have booked and the weather on the day. If you are not, our guides may refuse to take you onto the hill due to concerns about your safety. If you are unsure please ask.

  • Participants must be in a fit medical state to complete the activity. If you are unsure about your condition or how you may have to manage it with a change from your normal routine then we suggest you seek medical advice from your GP.

  • The full balance of the course must be paid one calendar month before the course date. If payment is not made, Elite Guides retains the right to 're-sell' your booking to another party. Any bookings within one calendar month are required to pay the full balance.

  • It is recommended that you take out travel insurance, in the case of any cancelation or disruption to your booking.

  • We may well take pictures of your day out and reserve the right to use these for promotional materials. If you do not want your photo taken please let us know either on the day or in writing before.

  • Elite Guides uses Stripe to process card  payments. Any payments through the Stripe website will follow the Terms and conditions as set out by Stripe. https://stripe.com/en-gb/legal/ssa

Cancellation policy

  • All deposits are none refundable.

  • Booking cancellations and amendments made within 1 calendar months of the course date will receive no refund.

  • If we cancel the course, participants will either be offered another mutually agreeable date or a full refund.

  • Any refunds given will be minus our bank/finance fees and a £5 administration fee.

  • We strongly recommend that you take out holiday/travel insurance to cover you in case of any financial loses.

The majority of our guides are subcontracted in for work. Elite Guides wants to provide you with the best experience possible, which means we have to also look after the guides/instructors we employ. Our cancellation policy is there to make sure that we can commit to paying guides/instructors that are booked in. We are unable to guarantee last minute date changes and cancellations as these guides/instructors will then be losing out on wages for the day.
