The Carn Mor Dearg Arete or CMD Arete is considered to be one of the best days of Hill Walking there is in Scotland and in the UK. It Feels like a long way up the initial slopes of Carn Mor Dearg but the views back across to the North face of Ben Nevis are fantastic. Once you reach the Summit of Carn Mor Dearg, that is where the fun really begins. An airy but easy scramble along the Arete slowly leads you towards the 'Abseil posts'. There are ots of options along the ridge to make it easier or harder for yourself, depending how much you enjoy the exposure.

Once along the Ridge, you are left with the final stepp and boulder strewn climb up to the Summit of Ben Nevis and views back along the way you have come. Let one of our qualified mountain guides or instructors lead you along this classic ridge walk, so you can make the most of your day.

This route is a big day out and you will need a good level of fitness, there is some scrambling to be done but none of it is very hard and there is some exposure to deal with. The highest ratio for this route is 1:6 with a daily rate starting at £280.
