Guided winter climbing Ben Nevis and Scottish winter climbing courses

Kirkhope Mountaineering is based in Fort William, in the Outdoor capital of the UK. We are ideally situated to help you get the most out of your outdoor experience and we are available for guiding year round throughout Scotland. This winter we are offering a comprehensive range of activities such as winter Ben Nevis guided trips, Scottish winter climbing courses, winter mountaineering courses and guided winter climbing on Ben Nevis and in Glencoe and a variety of winter skills courses too.

There is so much to offer with Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain on our doorstep and Glen Coe, the Mamores', the Grey Corries and the Skye Cuillin ridge just a short drive away. We can choose the best location to make the most out of the changeable Scottish weather and conditions, ensuring you get the most out of your time with us.

Why not join one of our Ben Nevis guides for one of the many Ben Nevis guided trips to the summit. Push yourself with a Ben Nevis winter climb or scramble or if it is your first time why not join us for one of our Ben Nevis guided walks via the Ben Nevis mountain path or the 'Tourist path' as it is known. Our qualified instructors and guides know the area well and work to the highest standards

Glencoe is one of Scotland's most famous landscapes with towering rocky peaks to the south and the Aonach Eagach ridge to the north. Bauchaille Etive Mor stands at the entrance to Glencoe and offers amazing rock climbing and scrambling like Agag's grove and Curved ridge. Our Glencoe mountain guides can show you all of these amazing places, hidden amongst Glencoe's Munros.

Booking a Skye Cuillin ridge guide is one of our most popular courses with full Cuillin ridge traverses or Cuillin Munro courses available throughout the summer months. The Cuillin ridge on Skye is world renowned and has some of the best rock climbing and mountaineering in Scotland.

At Kirkhope Mountaineering, we spend time with our clients' to tailor our courses to your specific needs. With over 10 years of experience in guiding and instructing a wide mix of groups, we are in a perfect position to help and advise you, what it is you need to develop. Our Scottish winter climbing courses are one of our most popular courses, with people wanted to take advantage of our local knowledge of Ben Nevis, Glencoe and our years of experience.

"The content of the five days was well balanced with regards to the mix between theoretical aspects, practising skills and putting it all into action. Despite my relatively limited previous experience, you managed to deliver the right amount of encouragement, allowing me to exceed my own expectations whilst always feeling safe. Ledge route was definitely the highlight of the week. The course has really improved my confidence and definitely emphasized my enthusiasm for the mountains."

Dave Sampson, Winter Mountaineering.

"We spent 2 days winter climbing with Scott, under his instruction he helped us develop existing skills and learn much more. His professionalism, skill and attitude gave us confidence, inspiration and a standard to aim for, while at every moment being humble and eager to share and give us as much of his knowledge as possible. We cannot thank him enough and highly recommend him"
